I saw a pictorial earlier this week. A man who took pictures of fathers with their grown sons and he asked them to hold hands. Some of the photos captured the awkwardness of the moment, but others caught a new connectedness and remembered joy. It was beautiful. As a mom it filled my heart and my eyes. Never lose the connectedness of this birthday and reach out to hold Brock’s hand. One day the memory of it will sustain him.

And yes, sing! In the best of times and in the worst of times. First, singing will confound your detractors! But mostly it will be like medicine for your soul. One of my favorite verses is Zephaniah 3:17. “The Lord your God is in your midst, the mighty one will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you with his love; he will rejoice over you with singing." What a great duet to share!

I think I sent you The House of God Forever, by Jon Foreman yesterday. It totally lifted my spirit and I had just to share.
